The color picks were a collaborative
effort of lots of the family - Gwen, Sara, Josh, Chelsea, Fran, and Deedee,
plus Poo.
Once
the foundation work was done, the outside painting began. The actual
painting took about two weeks from start to finish.
There was much wood
to replace, particularly on the garage. Then caulking between the trim
boards and the shingles. This took most of the time - and a lot of caulk!!
Once the wood replacement
and caulking was complete, the painting began. They sprayed all the
flat surfaces first with the wall color. This took three coats of paint
to cover the shingle color (battleship gray). Once that was complete,
the trim was painted. That took three coats also since the last paint
that was put on those boards was in the late 50's!
Once completed, the
finished product looked just as we envisioned it. And it blends well
with the surrounding landscape. |
